The Top 5 Regrets of The Dying

A palliative nurse recorded the most common regrets of the dying and put her findings into a book called ‘The Top Five Regrets of The Dying.’ It’s not surprising to see what made the list as they are all things that touch each of our lives as we struggle to pay attention to and make time for things that we truly love. Below is the list of each regret along with an excerpt from the book.  At the bottom is also a link to the book for anyone interested in checking it out.

  1. Good wake-up call. This list rings a bit close to my heart – and I don’t quite think I’m dying yet! We all need to step back and see ourselves as others see us. The truth movement sadly wipes our own inner feelings and passions out of us – we can no longer live the lives that we want or could have. And I don’t mean financial rewards or possessions. Just the richness of decent humanity and time to smell the roses. None the less, we still cannot sit back and watch the desecration of the Gentiles without speaking out and resisting the injustices meted out upon us. We do need to spend any time we can spare to care for ourselves and our precious ones. We are not broken yet and do not intend to be.
