10 Positive Attributes about the Vedas

1/. Zero Separatism

To me separatism is the root cause of this whole agenda. With any problem, if we can uncover the root cause, we automatically have the solution. Of course we have to objectively look at all the various symptoms of this agenda – but that only takes as so far. The root cause is we are transfixed in body consciousness and we have not fully grasped soul consciousness. Therefore we see each other as separate individuals with separate identities. This is mind control. This is pure unadulterated conditioning. And this is the fundamental theme of the Vedas which is referred to as maya (illusion).

Repeatedly throughout the whole of the Vedic philosophy, it is trying to remind us that we are souls in a body. Permanent souls in transient bodies, having a superficial transient worldly existence. A fleeting temporary experience in a particular body. One does not have to adhere to any ‘IAM’ label to appreciate the Vedas.

2/. Uniformly scholarly recognised

I’m now at a point that I say “All roads lead to the Vedas.”

The Vedas are a compendium of wealth of knowledge covering every single subject under the sun….and the sun itself. What subject does the huge collection of this knowledge not cover(?) From sciences, to domestic life, history, foretelling events, health, energy, warfare, and on and on we could go. This knowledge has not gone unnoticed; every serious scholar at some point has to return to this Vedic knowledge for a point of reference – they just have to. It seems to me that our information sources are tending to go full circle; especially now when science is FINALLY getting it that everything is energy and really that means everything is in fact consciousness. The essence of the Vedic message.

3/. Divine Approachable

Understandably many people these days are either atheists or agnostics, and are sick to stomach of dogmatic preaching. They see all religions as the cause of our ills and never the solution. Yet I would suggest that if someone happens to stumble across the Vedas, they would be able to appreciate at some level the essence of the message, without the heaviness one would receive from say something like the old testament (torah).

The teachings are all about living a clean, pure lifestyle, but the messages are delivered in such an approachable way, without the strict dos and don’ts of many religions; making them appealing to any reader. After reading the Vedic messages, one can appreciate the essence of an intelligent designer with a nice taste in one’s mouth. And as mentioned in 1/. one doesn’t have to belong to any religious group, or even be religious to appreciate these fine teachings.

4/. Realistic hope

The works of the Vedas are a body of hope. Flowing with pragmatism and solutions to all our modern day ills; as they offer real hope to individuals and society. We can all hope, but hope in isolation without being backed up with anything of any substance is futile. This is not the case with the Vedas. They are a foundational of hope for us all. And totally applicable to our modern day needs.

5/. Original source

To me the Vedas are the root and body of the knowledge of life. Everything else is just the branches off of this trunk. When I read other spiritual scriptures they just do not resonate the same powerful energy as the Vedic scriptures. It’s something I may not be able to fully explain and I appreciate it is subjective. I like to always go back to the original pure unadulterated source of any subject. The Vedas date over 5000 years and the principles are as valid today as they were back then. I cannot see the point in re-inventing the wheel, fixing what doesn’t need fixing. The Vedas stand alone as a president of Truth, as a foundation of all knowledge.

6/. All sentient beings

As I’ve mentioned many a time; I can’t take any religious teacher seriously if they are condoning slaughter of animals. If they cannot see that ALL sentient beings are souls, then I’m off. Hand up to the face, sorry mate – not interested. I just cannot give their message my respect on any level. Animals are souls, they are conscious beings and they have as much right to exist alongside us without having to be subjected to unnecessary suffering or abuse. Animals are not to be used and abused at any level. When it is totally UNNECESSARY to eat animals for our survival. The Vedas only have advocated animal slaughter in their Satya-yuga (golden age) under strict spiritual practice in rare occasions. Advocating that animal slaughter should not be carried out in time of Kali (iron age) – the time we are now living in.

7/. Karmic sense

Of all the awkward and sensitive topics to discuss about this agenda. I would say the topic of karma (action) tops the lot. In a way even more so than the holofable. Because we are touching on the controversial area of why bad things happen to good people. Deep spiritual questions, such as: Why is my brother disabled and not me? Why are these poor Pakistani children being droned? As well as the big question: If there really was a loving benevolent God, why is there so much suffering in the world to innocent people?

To me, spiritually speaking the definitive and precise Vedic explanation on karma fully explains every single one of my probing life anomalies. Of course like every aspect of spirituality, karma has been vilified and sillyfied by junk spirituality within the new age movement. But a deeper understanding can be found within the Vedas. If the Vedas have been spot on in EVERY other aspect of their knowledge base, why would they be wrong on this topic??

Because the teachings discuss our misunderstanding of time, consciousness and what matter really is (which modern sciences are finally beginning to touch on through quantum physics); they are able to put our pea brain superficial logical queries about these important areas into proportion.

8/. Beauty

Even for those people who can’t grasp the spiritual significance of the Vedas, but have a attraction to anything of poetic and creative value will be able to fully appreciate the beauty that is oozing from this wonderful scriptures. They are jam-packed with historical metaphorical verse,  taking us all to a wonderland world of poetic adventure, astronomy, and enlightened fantasy. In these dark and despondent times, the powerful and uplifting works of the Vedas are available for our self-empowerment and creative inspiration. All of it impregnating us with a rich ancient Asian culture.

9/. Cognitive Approachable

One could devote a lifetime to the Vedas (and people do) and still not be fully conversant in them. The information is just too vast and in depth. However the wonderful thing is that there are so many levels and simplifications that even the likes of me can pick up the essence of their messages. For example the Bhagavad Gita is a condensed metaphoric simplification of the story of the Mahabharata. In this one book, we can learn about the all the elements which affect our lives. The simplistic message of our egos, greed, attachment, desires, and of course our true identities.

These are the true ingredients which make up all of our worldly issues and therefore all of the keys to unlock us from our worldly prison. We don’t have to be scholars to be able to appreciate the Vedas. It provides stimulation for everyone at every level of intellect and spiritual understanding.

10/. Pragmatic

To me this has to be the most important factor of the Vedas. This is my whole purpose of reading them. They are how to manuals for life. How to fix books. Surely that makes sense. If we want to know about a product, who do we approach, but the manufacturer (the creator). Even if this is beyond most people’s belief systems, one still has come from an understanding that the time period in which these books were produced were an existence when society was grounded. It had values and workable practical ethics which served society. This must be respected. To me the teachings in these phenomenal scriptures are applicable today as they were over 5000 years ago. Logical, practical and plain old common sense – nothing else will do.
