PRIVILEGES AND RIGHTS
Privileges are granted and revoked by the government, rights do not derive from government but limit the exercise of governmental power.
CONTRACTS
Contracts are expressed or implied, the expressed are manifest viva voce or by writing, the implied are shown by silence, by acts or by signs.
Brian Blum: In colloquial speech, people often talk of “signing a contract”.  Strictly speaking this is inaccurate terminology, the contract is a legal relation between the parties and the document that is signed is actually a record/and/or memorial of the contract.
FORCE MAJEURE
Superior or overpowering force.  An unexpected or uncontrollable event.
TERMINATION

The ending of a contract without it being broken by either side.

Failure to do the right thing at the required time.  Inexcusable delay in enforcing a claim.

FORGIVE

To give up all claim to punish or exact penalty for.

SORRY

Inferior or substandard.

APOLOGISE

To make a formal defence in speech or writing.

DEFENCE

A statement in explanation of some action or belief.

OBLIGATION

That which constitutes a legal or moral duty and which renders a person liable to coercion or punishment for neglecting it.

SECURITY INTEREST

A lien on personal property created by an agreement.

LIEN

A legal right or interest that a creditor has in another’s property until a debt that it secures is satisfied.
